The Hot Rod
"The Hot Rod" was puchased in September of 2002. It was purchased north of Dallas in a town called Murphy, Texas. The truck had been in a barn on blocks since 1990. The previous owner's father stated that the truck was in running condition when they parked it in the barn to begin restoring it as a father and son project. Years went by and the son never gained interest in restoring the old truck, dad was now to old to work on it, so they sold it; to me. I purchased the truck from them along with a 1950 Chevrolet parts truck.

Powerplant Discovery
Sept 30, 2002 - After days of research on the web and studying what we have under the hood we have determined what powerplant we have. It's not the original engine that came in the truck, a 216ci, but a '58-'62 235ci! That's right, newer, bigger and better than expected.

The Work Begins
Sep 30, 2002 - My son and I are begining to clean up the old truck some to see what we are in store for. Guages came out better than expected as they were covered in rust and some kind of black corrosion on the glass edges and now they are shiny and crystal clear. Cleaned up the door handles and window trim, and hood ornaments. My son tested out the vents as he thought they were pretty neat.

The Twin is Delivered
The twin was delivered to its new home today. She's in pretty bad shape but the parts we need are there and usable. At first glance we'll be able to use the front glass, the hood, front bumpber, inside heater unit, and door handles. Will post pictures this week.
